Without Him I can do nothing...This is not only the title of a book written by Corrie ten Boom, it was also something so important for her. Obeying her Lord made her powerful in Christ, as we can see in the books and speeches of our sister who is right now at her favourite place: at the feet of our Lord.Quotes

Jesus Faith is like radar that sees through the fog -- the reality of things at a distance that the human eye cannot see. Memories are the key not to the past, but to the future. Discernment is God's call to intercession, never to faultfinding. It is not my ability, but my response to God's ability, that counts. Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible. A man is powerful on his knees. Do not struggle to get out of rough hands. God uses rough hands to make us beautiful and perfect. Of Jesus we read: "The soldiers plaited a crown of thourns and put it on his head . . ." John 19:2 I gave my back to the smiters and . . . I hid not my face from shame and spitting." Isaiah 50:6 He had power to help Himself, but He never used it. If God has called you, do not spend time looking over your shoulder to see who is following. Peter said, "No, Lord!" But he had to learn that one cannot say no while saying Lord, and that one cannot say Lord while saying no. Obedience is doing no less than we are asked. Trust is doing no more than we are asked. Don't worry about what you do not understand... Worry about what you do understand in the Bible but do not live by.

Watchman Nee: articles |
Corrie ten Boom tells about her life with the Lord and the role of prayer. „I like to pray with an open Bible. I like to pray: 'Father, You have said it in Your Word, now You must do it.' And God likes that. (...) He likes it when we expect that He does what He promises.”

"You need not fear," said the Dutch Prime Minister over the radio. "We
shall not be attacked by any of the countries fighting in this war. They
have promised this."
Father ten Boom suddenly turned off the radio. His two daughters, Corrie
and Betsie, looked up in surprise.
"The Prime Minister is wrong," said the old watchmaker. "There will be
war. Germany will attack us and we shall be defeated."
